UMD movie sales 'well over 200,000'

Sony Computer Entertainment has corrected recent erroneous reports which stated that only 100,000 UMD movies have been sold in North America.

"A Sony representative said that the reports citing the 100,000 figures had misconstrued comments made by the company regarding sales, which were intended to mean that some titles had topped 100,000 sales, rather than indicating sales across the entire range.

Other titles in the range have also sold well, he claimed, which would put the overall sales figures for the UMD movie format in North America at well over 200,000 — and possibly significantly higher than that, with sales in the half-million range certainly not implausible."
