Excel Home Videos and 20th Century Fox Backing UMD

Excel Home Videos are teaming up with Twentieth Century Fox to bring movies to gaming consoles. According to Tech2.com, these will be available on UMD and so playable on your PSP.

Initial releases include, Alien, Alien vs Predator, Aliens -2, Day After Tomorrow, Garfield: The Movie, I, Robot, Ice Age, Independence Day, Mr. And Mrs. Smith, Phone Booth, Speed, There's Something About Mary, Transporter and The X-Men (1 and 2).

M.N Kapasi, managing director of Excel Home Videos said, "The initiative focuses on the ongoing convergence of various Media and enriching the Cinema experience for our viewers. The Initiative will go along way in converging Media and also checking piracy to a large extent The Movies will be available in stores like Planet M and Crossword among others."
