Kill-Bill-Umd-1Amazon.com has added five new UMD movies from Buena Vista Home Entertainment. The movies, which are being offered for 30% off retail, include: "Kill Bill Vol. 1," "National Treasure," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Hero," and "Reign of Fire." Depending on the title, they're scheduled to ship on either April 19 or May 3.

As previously noted, Amazon also offers five moves from Sony's movie studio at cheap prices ($13.97): "Hellboy (Director's Cut)," "Resident Evil: Apocalypse," "XXX," and "Once Upon A Time In Mexico."

I still wish they were cheaper. If UMD moves were around $10 each, they would be a killer app for the PSP.

I totally agree. There is no reason these should be more than a normal DVD that can be played in a hundred different places, compare to a UMD where they can only be played in your PSP.

Reign of Fire for 20.99 are they kidding me. That movie first off was horrible and second you will only be able to play it on a PSP. I’m all for coming out with movies in the format you want to sell it in but I am going to have to agree with the other two people who posted comments here. If they sold the movies for 8.99 and then sold the really great titles for 12.99 or something then I bet they would sell so many of them. And when I say really great titles I am not talking about triple x or Reign of Fire, I am talking about movies that were breakthroughs or award winners like Forest Gump or The Godfather....Reign of Fire, that’s just funny.

It makes no sense to buy a UMD movie. I like to share movies with my family, meaning the living room DVD player is my first choice. I'm not buying two different formats.

Actually what I'd like to see is a combo pack available. Where I can get the DVD and UMD in the same package. Like for $10 more than the DVD alone or something.

Put me down for UMDs costing too much for what you get. Only plays on PSP. Okay with the combo pack idea. Better to get a 1GB stick and download your own movies from DVD or wherever for now.

UMD !!great !! I've already got a movie ....Spiderman2. Of course it had to be bundled with the game. Absolutely NO way will I buy a movie I cant enjoy with my friends/family. And No way will I buy 2 formats of the same movie. Does SONY ass-u-me that Im a F*****G Dimwit ??. Cheap UMD movies at $4-5 I would consider but $18-28 ?? ha ha ha ha. Those Far East boys really committed Hari-Kiri with that one.

Think about this. A UMD player that hooks up to your TV. That would be the end of CDs and DVDs.
