Sony today announced two new PSX models — the 250GB DESR-7700 and the 160GB DESR-5700 — which enable users to convert recorded video content to the MPEG-4 format and copy it onto a Memory Stick for viewing on the PSP....
Sony today announced two new PSX models — the 250GB DESR-7700 and the 160GB DESR-5700 — which enable users to convert recorded video content to the MPEG-4 format and copy it onto a Memory Stick for viewing on the PSP. The encoding process is said to take up to a staggering five hours for one hour of video. The new models will go on sale next month in Japan. The DESR-7700 is expected to sell for approximately 80,000 yen, while the DESR-5700 will sell for approximately 60,000 yen. The Sony PSX is a hybrid PlayStation 2 gaming device that provides DVR (digital video recorder) capabilities like a TiVo box.
