Late Sunday evening Sony released version 2.01 of the firmware for North American PSPs. The update, which weighs in at 17MB, provides “Revisions to strengthen security.” The update had been rumored to be on the way last week, when Sony vowed to crack down on PSP hacks. The update is available via the PSP’s built-in Network Update feature; Sony’s official online Software Update page has yet to be updated as of this report.
