10 million PSPs sold worldwide

Sony announced today that as of October 21st, it has shipped more than 10 million PSPs worldwide. The company noted that the shipment of 10 million units within the 10 months since its launch is "the fastest penetration speed" ever for the PlayStation platform. Sony said it has sold 4.47 million PSPs in North America, 3 million in Japan and Asia, and 2.53 million in Europe.
