Zelda, Crisis Core Among Golden Joystick Nominees

The shortlists have been finalized, and voting in the 26th annual Golden Joystick awards is now open. The UK-based award is the longest-running video game industry prize and is quite an honor to receive, with past winners including Vice City Stories for PSP and Gears of War for the Xbox 360. Fans are invited to participate in the process and can vote on their favorites among the finalists chosen by the awards committee.

For the category of best handheld title, there are some strong contenders this year. Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the DS and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII for the PSP are two of the strongest contenders.
Other nominees include Advance Wars: Dark Conflict, the turn based strategy sim from Nintendo, and Patapon, the quirky rhythm-strategy hybrid for the PSP.
