WipeOut Pulse Going to PS2?

Sales of the old workhorse PS2 console may be slowing, but that isn't stopping Sony from porting additional games over from its newer consoles. According to sources in Europe, Wipeout Pulse from the PSP will be making an appearance on the ageing console. A list of upcoming games released by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe shows Wipeout Pulse coming to the PS2 in February, and Fat Princess coming for the PS3 in March. We have no information about a possible North American release for these titles.

Wipeout Pulse can be added to the long list of PSP-to-PS2 ports which includes Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters and GTA: Liberty City Stories. We can’t way that we feel particularly upset about this news, however. Wipeout Pulse (released 2007) is one of the best racing titles available for the PSP, and its move to the PS2 is unlikely to have much of an impact on future sales. If anything, the popularity of PSP games on other platforms might spur developers to create more of them.
