Will You Pay $25 Monthly To Get 3G PS Vita Online With AT&T

Sony is gearing up to launch the Sony PS Vita in the U.S. this coming February, as they are now roughly 6-weeks out from the U.S. launch. We have new details concerning the 3G data plans that will be offered by AT&T, and gamers now have some decisions to make.
The Sony PS Vita is going to ship in 2 different models when it launches in the U.S. in February.
The first model is going to be a Wi-Fi only model which will retail for $249.
The other model, one which has far more questions surrounding it, is the 3G-enabled model which will come with a price tag that is $50 higher, at $299.
There have been many questions concerning the 3G model of the Sony PS Vita, but many of those questions are now being answered.
One thing that has been confirmed is that AT&T is going to be the carrier of the PS Vita 3G data plans.
It has also been confirmed that downloads over 3G are going to be capped at 20MB, meaning you will not be able to download any games from the PlayStation Network that are over 20MB unless you are on Wi-Fi.
The final piece to the 3G puzzle has been unveiled as well, as AT&T has been confirmed to be using standard data plan rates for the PS Vita.
This means we will be spending $14.99 per month for 250MB of data, as well as $24.99 per month for 2GB of data usage.
If you keep your Sony PS Vita active monthly over a year, that means that you are going to be spending, at the very least $180 per year for the lower-end data plan, or $300 for the higher-end plan.
This could be a huge factor in how many gamers go for the 3G model of the Sony PS Vita.
Not only will it be more expensive, but you will be paying a monthly premium that gamers may have a hard time justifying in a world where the majority of consumers already own a smartphone they pay a data plan for.
So what do you think gamers, will you pay that much monthly to get your PS Vita online with 3G?
