AT&T has made a splash at CES 2012 by confirming details regarding support of the 3G version of the Sony PS Vita.

The Sony PS Vita will release on February 22, 2012 in the U.S., and will release in two versions.

Upon launch day, the Sony PS Vita will be made available in a Wi-Fi only model for $249, as well as a 3G model which will be priced $50 higher at $299.

Not long ago, Sony confirmed that AT&T would be the carrier for the Sony PS Vita, the 3G model specifically, in the U.S.

A few weeks later, an AT&T employee revealed the pricing plans that would go with the Sony PS Vita on AT&T.

We covered those price plans right here at PSPWorld.com, but we will recap them for you quickly.

What we learned is that there will be two different data plan options for Sony PS Vita gamers. The first will be a plan that will cost $14.99 per month, and will give you 250MB of data usage, while the other will cost you $25, and will give you 2GB of data.

What we did not know, was whether or not AT&T was going to require a term contract with the Sony PS Vita data plans.

Thankfully, AT&T revealed at CES 2012 that there would be no term contracts involved with the Sony PS Vita.

This means that you will be able to sign up for, and cancel a PS Vita data plan at will.

This is great news and will allow for gamers to try out the 3G capabilities without being locked in.

So what do you think gamers, does this make the 3G PS Vita more appealing?
