UK bus driver fired for playing PSP on the job

Bus driver Steve Allcock has been fired from his job at Blackburn Transport because he was playing his PSP while driving. Passengers heard the sounds of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories coming from the front of the bus during pauses at bus stops and traffic lights, and occasionally while driving. On-board CCTV footage provided the evidence needed to sack Allcock.

His boss at Blackburn Transport, Michael Morton, said: “The driver was interviewed and we feel we’ve taken appropriate disciplinary action. “We take a very dim view of drivers using any sort of device that will distract them. Our ultimate concern is the safety of passengers.”
