Sony to embrace homebrew community and offer [inexpensive] PS Vita dev kits

Sony's chief of SCE in-house studios, Shuhei Yoshida, "there's nothing to it but to do it..." that is to embrace the "garage" as they call it (or homebrew) community, "because we must assimilate to innovate."

According to DevelopOnline, Sony will be offering [inexpensive] PS Vita dev kits because "as an industry, we have to support those smaller teams, and let them try out their ideas. Without doing so, the whole industry will stall, in terms of innovation." True that. And it's about time.

Just how far Sony's support for homebrew will go, is yet to be seen, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.
