The Cost To Import A Sony PS Vita Gets Cheaper

gf-kratos-t.jpg

We ran an article not too long ago which detailed the cost of importing a Sony PS Vita. What we have learned, is that a few weeks after release, the PS Vita import price is already going down.

When we initially calculated the total cost of importing a Sony PS Vita, we concluded that it was simply not worth the money in our opinion.

The price point for the Wi-Fi only model of the Sony PS Vita was more than double what it is going to cost in the U.K. and the U.S. when it launches on February 22, 2012.

Things have changed though over the past few weeks, as we area already seeing the Sony PS Vita become a bit cheaper as it grows in age.

It has been confirmed by scouring the various major import retailers that the Sony PS Vita has received a price drop of almost $100 from what it was when it initially launched.

The Sony PS Vita Wi-Fi model can now be purchased for roughly $460, not quite double the price point of the Sony PS Vita coming to the U.S. and U.K.

The Sony PS Vita will ship in a Wi-Fi only model on February 22, 2012 in the U.S. and U.K. for $249, and will also have a 3G model selling for $299.

Gamers have been trying to decide if it was worth the extra money to break down and import a Sony PS Vita, getting a jump on Uncharted Golden Abyss and other big launch games already available in Japan.

So with the Sony PS Vita now nearly $100 cheaper to import than it was just a few weeks ago, we ask the question.

Will you import a Sony PS Vita from Japan due to this new price drop on the handheld?
