Street Fighter IV Dominates February Sales Charts

npd-group-logo-short.jpg

Many contenders entered the dojo this past month, but their bodies lie bruised and broken, with only one champion still standing. Combined sales of Street Fighter IV on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 pushed the game to within striking distance of 1 million copies last month, proving that fighting games are still incredibly popular. Killzone 2, which only went on sale during the last few days of the month, posted a respectable 323,000 units sold, while Wii Fit and Wii Play continue to hold top spots for reasons that are completely unfathomable to us.

On the hardware side not much has changed over the previous month: The Wii and DS are still selling like Hello Kitty in a Japanese schoolyard. The Xbox 360 continues to pull ahead of the PS3 in North America, as a much-needed price drop has failed to materialize. Finally, the handheld PSP posted pretty good numbers in February, boosted by new titles like Resistance: Retribution and big announcements from Sony.
