Sony Xperia Play Superbowl Commercial

Sony officially announced the upcoming Xperia Play android gaming phone during this year's superbowl. The advertisement, which you can view below, is suitably obscure in the tradition of great superbowl ads from years gone by. But the core message comes across: Android is ready to play. Equipped with proper gaming controls, this new smartphone should help bridge the gap between the current generation and the next. It doesn't seem like the phone is fully compatible with the current digital PSP game library, which could annoy some fans (you can check out the full Xperia Play specifications here). In fact, we're not totally convinced that this phone will find much of an audience. Because once the NGP comes out in fall 2011, that device will surely overshadow anything less capable, including this PSP-branded phone.
