Sony tries viral PSP marketing, gets called out

In what looks to be a botched viral marketing campaign by Sony for the PlayStation Portable, two seemingly legit YouTube videos (available via the blog link later in this story) which recently surfaced from some rappers look to have actually been put together by a marketing agency perhaps hired by Sony. Members of the Something Awful forums observed the videos and thought something looked not real enough for them. Upon checking the domain registration information of a blog supposedly put up about wanting a PSP for Christmas, the contact information revealed viral marketing agency Zipatoni as the site's owner. A check of the Zipatoni site's client list shows a PlayStation logo.

Come on Sony - cover your tracks better than that! [via]
