Sony Should Do it Like This: Samsung Galaxy Tab

Hey Sony, big electronics manufacturers are rolling out fancy new tablets that can run a variety of mobile apps, games, and multimedia. We know you've got a semi-successful e-book reader, and a gaming handheld in your product lineup. The next obvious step is to release a touch screen tablet of your own. If you were going to copy an existing design, the Samsung Galaxy Tab wouldn't be a bad choice.

The Android 2.2 powered device comes with front and rear-facing cameras, and supports Adobe Flash for browsing and applications. Powered by a Cortex A8 1.0GHz application processor, the Galaxy Tab can play HD video content in a range of multimedia formats (DivX, XviD, MPEG4, H.263, H.264 and more). The device features Samsung's own Touch Wiz interface layer, to provide a tailored tablet experience for the Android OS. With a 7 inch screen, it's slightly larger than a PSP, but smaller than Apple's iPad. It's a bit too big to be used frequently as a phone, but you can still make voice calls using the device.

Amazon recently dropped the price of the Galaxy Tab to $649, and it is available for all carriers (At&t, Verizon, T-Mobile. Buy on Amazon here
