Sony PS Vita Near Launch, Sony Updates PS3 To Prepare

The Sony PS Vita is near launch, and all signs are pointing to the handheld enjoying one of the biggest launches in the history of Sony consoles.

The Sony PS Vita will launch in Japan this month, and is slated to launch in the U.S. on February 22, 2012.

The Sony PlayStation 3 is already starting to gear up for the launch of the PS Vita via firmware updates to support the new hardware.

The Sony PS3 has just received update version 4.0 of their PS3 firmware.

The new firmware update showcases more than ever that the PS Vita is near.

The new firmware update will allow the PS Vita and Sony PS3 to work together.

You will be able to back-up your PS Vita games to the Sony PS3, as well as your PS Vita save game files.

One of the other features is the ability to actually update the system software of your Sony PS Vita system using your PS3 network set-up.

This all leads to full integration between the Sony PS3 and Sony PS Vita, and ensures us that the Sony PS Vita is near.

The Sony PS Vita is set to launch in Japan admist a stellar launch line-up.

Some of the games expected to be ready at launch will include the heavily hyped Uncharted Golden Abyss, among many others.
