Sony PS Vita Battery Life To Be Extended To 15-Hours

Sony has been facing many questions regarding the battery life of the Sony PS Vita, but there are some new products coming down the pipeline that they hope will give the console some extra juice when gamers need it most.

Nyko, one of the most popular and successful makers of gaming accessories has announced a new line-up of peripherals for the Sony PS Vita.

The announcement came at CES 2012 and shows that the company is geared up to truly extend the gaming experience you are allowed to have on the PS Vita in one sitting, or over multiple sittings when a power supply may not be nearby.

The new product is known as the Power Grip from Nyko, and is coming with a suggested retail price of $24.99.

This is a dock of sorts where the PS Vita can sit in it, and turn into what looks more like a PS3 controller than anything else.

The great thing about the Power Grip though is that it is going to extend the battery life of the handheld.

Sony has stated that PS Vita battery life is between 3 - 5 hours. Nyko has stated though that the Power Grip will extend this 3-times over.

This theoretically extends the battery life of the PS Vita all the way up to 15-hours.

We will have to reserve judgment until we have the Power Grip in our hands for a full review and hands-on experience with it, but this is clearly looking like one of the more must-have accessories for the PS Vita.
