SIEGE 2011 Program Announced

The Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo (SIEGE) program released today showcases more than 100 speakers on sessions covering all aspects of modern game development. Scheduled for Oct. 6 - 9, 2011, at the Marriott NW Atlanta hotel, SIEGE focuses on the fast-growing game design industry in the South.

"This is our best lineup yet," said Andrew Greenberg, director of the fifth annual SIEGE and producer of the upcoming Haunted House Tycoon computer game. "We've added speakers like Electronic Arts' chief creative officer; celebrities like Ellen McLain, the voice of GladDOS in Portal 2; sponsors like Tripwire Interactive and Hi-Rez Studios; a game investment conference; a mini-incubator for people just forming game design studios; and much more."

Highlights include a forum by industry leaders on how games are improving areas as diverse as health, training, and education; business sessions on creating a game development studio, and in-depth looks at game art, programming and design.

In addition to the sessions, SIEGE offers numerous networking events, including an opening night reception by leading MMO developer CCP, suite parties by groups as diverse as Tripwire Interactive, the Georgia Game Developers Association (GGDA), colleges and law firms. Sessions at SIEGE cover all areas of game development, from programming to design to art to game audio to business and legal issues. SIEGE also offers a strong focus on serious games - games for training, health, education and other areas.

Now in its fifth year, SIEGE features leading figures from a wide spectrum of the industry, including artists, programmers, designers, investors, writers, teachers and business executives. Other speakers include government figures, experts on computer game violence, social issues, serious games and more. This year also introduces the first Game Investment Conference @ SIEGE, an all-day event scheduled on Oct. 6 for investors, game producers and others interested in the funding of new interactive products.

The event has attracted a variety of sponsors, including leading companies, universities, and government organizations.
