Should You Import A Sony PS Vita From Japan

The Sony PS Vita is nearing its release in the U.S. and the rest of the world, but there are many gamers out there thinking of importing a Sony PS Vita from Japan this month.

The Sony PS Vita is set for launch in Japan in December 2011, before the new year comes here in the states and in the U.K.

With that said, there is certainly a potential and an option to import the Sony PS Vita from Japan, playing it a few months before the rest of the world is able to.

But what are the benefits to importing a Sony PS Vita? The biggest benefit is the fact that you will have it before everyone else, and be able to enjoy all of the fantastic technology without the wait, it is instant gratification.

There are certainly some downsides though, including the fact that you are going to be paying more money for it to get it from Japan than you will from buying it on launch day in the U.S.

You also have to take into the account that you will be spending extra to import games from Japan to play on the new handheld.

Sure, you will have the Sony PS Vita early, but it is still only eight weeks prior to its launch in the U.S.

The Sony PS Vita is a tempting import due to the way in which the technology is structured, and how friendly Sony consoles typically are for importers.

The Sony PS Vita may best be served as a handheld that you wait it out on though.

It is not that long until the February 22, 2012 release in the U.S., and the fact that it will likely come at a very premium price pushes it out of the reach for many gamers.

Importing a Sony PS Vita is an interesting option, but the price appears just too high.
