Rating Application Reveals Indiana Jones PSP Game

Note to sneaky developers: You can't hide anything from us. Games have to be submitted months in advance of publication for ratings and reviews by boards like the ESRB in North America and PEGI in Europe. Inevitably, some internet sleuth always finds the rating application months before a game is set to release, even when it is supposed to be a secret.

Today, the blogosphere has found another interesting gem on the PEGI website. Both PSP Fanboy and Siliconera are reporting the find, suggesting that Lucasarts has decided to send some Indiana Jones love our way. Initially in development for next-gen consoles (that's how old this news is, by the way) we haven't seen or heard anything about the now current-gen Indiana Jones game. Both the PSP and DS releases are called Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings. The rating discovery sugests one of two things: either Lucasarts has decided to scrap the console games in favor of easier-to-make handheld titles, or the company is planning a huge multiplatform release in a similar vein to big franchises like Spiderman or Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

We expect that it is the latter, and that we will be hearing more about the console games in due time. For now, it is great news to see another Western developer showing support for Sony's handheld.
