One of the titles to stand out from the early Playstation2 conversions with its brash and fresh appeal was Pursuit Force. Originally Pursuit Force for the PSP was an early version of the 2006 hit, Just Cause. Jacking cars and high speed chase battles gave PSP owners a high octane kick ass handheld game, and now Pursuit Force 2 will also land on the PS2. According to Sony Computer Entertainment expect big things this Summer, as their official press release testifies:

17th January 2007 - Following the success of Pursuit Force™ on PSP® (PlayStation®Portable), Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Bigbig Studios are delighted to announce the highly anticipated sequel to one of the best-selling games on PSP, Pursuit Force™: Extreme Justice – coming to both PSP and PlayStation®2 (PS2) this summer.

Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice follows hot on the heels of its predecessor with an action-packed Hollywood-style blockbuster for PSP and PS2 that demands new levels of speed and a fresh approach to law enforcement, as the Pursuit Force are called upon again to save Capital City from a scourge of gangs terrorising the streets. The Convicts and Warlords are back and the new gangs ripping Capital City are the Raiders and the Syndicate.

With the new gangs turning the city into a warzone, and with a new heavy handed rival arm of the police (Viper division) for the Pursuit Force to contend with, you'll have a host of new vehicles to jump between, such as gigantic tanks, trains, and even the wings of an aeroplane. At the player's control will be a bunch of new vehicles such as a bike and sidecar, jet ski and a hovercraft. Players can seamlessly switch from ground combat to air-based vehicles, such as helicopters, to take down the enemy with mounted high calibre guns.

Expect an array of new gameplay goodies and features, including a two-player split-screen for the PS2 and a four-player wi-fi mode for the PSP. Also new to the series is a Justice Bar, giving players the ability to regain strength and prolong a mission, three difficulty levels, and a host of new recruits: Sarah (Air Support), Gage (High Speed Pursuit), Ash (Special Operations) and Preach (Heavy Assault).

Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice is scheduled for release on PSP and PlayStation 2 in the summer of 2007.
