PSP Title Knocks MGS4 From Top Spot in Japan

After an impressive first week and approximately 500,000 copies sold in Japan, the blockbuster PS3 game was stealthily dispatched by a handheld title. Super Robot Taisen A Portable kicked snake’s butt with an impressive 102,000 copies sold this week, to a paltry 67,000 copies for MGS4. The embarrassment is lessened somewhat by the fact that Japanese gamers absolutely love the Robot Taisen series, which predictably features giant fighting robots and anime art style.

When asked for comment, Hideo Kojima was unavailable. His personal assistant stated that he was lurking in the bushes outside the offices of the Super Robot Taisen developer wearing nothing but a cardboard box and speaking furtively into some kind of walkie-talkie.
