The latest issue of PSM (PlayStation Magazine) claims that Sony will release a second generation PSP in Japan by March 2007. Citing unnamed sources, the publication says that Sony has made a deal with Samsung to include 8GB of built-in NAND flash memory in the new PSP. The magazine also says that the new models with incorporate a built-in camera and that the PSP will be thinner and lighter than the current version. PSM states that "From all indications, the next PSP will have the same graphic and sound capabilities of the current system." News of the second generation PSP, along with the first details of the built-in flash memory and video camera, was first reported by PSP World in February.
