PS3 Power Replicated by New PSP2

Shortly after scrapping the ill-fated PSP-GO, Sony PlayStation announced the launch of the new PSP2 (NGP Next Generation Portable), which is rumoured to have the same capability as the PlayStation 3. The device is one of the most powerful gaming devices ever, hosting multiplayer PS3 tournaments and producing some of the most impressive graphics in the gaming world. It will be interesting to see which capabilities the new PSP2 will take on.

Unlike the existing PSP devices, developers have reason to believe that the new, yet-to-be-released PSP2 will focus on more involved games with in-depth storylines. While handheld games were primarily fun titles that required little commitment, the PSP2 will feature a lineup of games that are more similar to PS3 titles that have deeper plots and richer graphics.

There are some interesting new features that will also be available on the new handheld device. The new PSP2 is rumoured to have a touch screen like the Apple iPad as well as two cameras to make online gaming with friends easier. The new device will feature online capability as well, making it possible to compete in online competitions like you would in PS3 tournaments.
