PS Vita Launch Game Focus, WipeOut 2048 Racing

The WipeOut franchise has always been very popular among gamers, spanning generations of consoles and system launches. The franchise is back yet again, this time ready to make it mark on the Sony PS Vita launch.

WipeOut 2048 is poised to be a sleeper-hit on the PS Vita when it launches in February 2012 in the U.S. and in the U.K.

The last time we were able to jump into the no-gravity racer's universe was via the Sony PS3 and the PlayStation Network.

WipeOut HD released as a PSN only title not too long ago and was met with a great deal of praise from critics and gamers alike.

The first focal point here is the fact that WipeOut 2048 is really set to push the visual boundaries of the Sony handheld. The game looks fantastic with amazing scenery, and a truly futuristic feel from.

The game is set to make great use of the Sony PS Vita technology, and the new analog sticks on the PS Vita are sure to make for a much more enjoyable experience than it was racing with this franchise back on the original Sony PSP.

One very cool feature promised is the cross-platform online play.

Owners of WipeOut HD on the Sony PS3 will be able to go head-to-head with Sony PS Vita gamers playing WipeOut 2048.

They will share the same tracks, same racers, etc. ou will be able to have up to 8-people racing at once, even if it is one PS Vita owner against several PS3 owners.

With the game poised for a launch-day release, WipeOut 2048 is shaping up to be one of the more intriguing purchases on launch-day, as it appears polished and ready to make an impact.
