Penny Arcade Expo Early-Bird Registration Ends March 31

Penny Arcade, creators of the popular online comic strip of the same name, yesterday gave the final call for this year’s Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) early-bird registration. Early-bird registration for the August 24- 26 game-culture celebration at the Washington State Trade and Covention Center in downtown Seattle, Wash., will end Saturday, March 31.
Early-bird registrants pay just $40 for a three-day pass. Those who register between April 1 and Aug. 1 will pay $45 for a three-day pass, and passes purchased at the door will be $30 per day. Online registration is available at www.pennyarcadeexpo.com.
PAX tickets are selling more than twice as fast as they did last year. PAX 2006 drew 20,000 gamers, prompting a move to the cavernous Washington State Trade and Convention Center in Seattle. The change in venue more than doubles the size of the PAX show floor, giving attendees more than 200,000 square feet packed with soon-to-be-released games, tournaments, concerts, contests and more.
PAX is unique in that it gives equal love to all games, whether they’re played on a television, computer monitor or tabletop. Highlights include a huge new exhibit floor, incredible nerdcore concerts and the amazing Omegathon three-day tournament. Only pre- registered attendees are eligible to become Omeganauts.
Musical guests at PAX 2007 include The OneUps, MC Frontalot, Jonathan Coulton, Freezepop, The Neskimos and Optimus Rhyme. Microsoft, Sony, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts/Mythic, Sabertooth Games, Telltale Games, the Behemoth, Namco-Bandai, Upper Deck, Wizkids, ArenaNet, Harmonix, and Rockstar top the list of over 50 companies exhibiting at PAX 2007.
