Peace Walker PSP Hardware Bundle Coming June 8th

In case there was any doubt that Peace Walker would be one of the most important PSP releases of this year, Sony has laid it to rest. The company today announced that it will delay release of the game in North America until June 8th (that's the bad news). The good news is that Sony will also issue a special hardware bundle to commemorate the launch of the game. This hardware bundle will come packaged with a copy of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, a PSP 3000 console, a 2 GB memory stick and a download code to grab a special character for use in the game.

The other significant difference between the Peace Walker bundle and the regular core PSP is that the system itself will come in a flashy color called "Spirited Green", which has not been offered before on this side of the Pacific. We're not sure how we feel about the new color (pictured below), but it is definitely a distinctive choice.

According to Sony, the price of the MGS: Peace Walker bundle will be $200 USD. This announcement appears to shoot down rumors of a potential PSP price drop, at least before June 8th, 2010.
