Numblast Hits PSN in Europe

Numblast is an original puzzle game for the PSP and PS3 made by the same folks who worked on Mr. Driller. The title is currently available exclusively as a download over the Playstation Network in Europe and Japan, with a possible American version planned for the future. It must be part of that new trend of smaller, downloadable titles that Sony execs were so excited about at E3. The game, which was originally known as Qruton (like the ones you put on a salad, get it?) has received a much-needed change of name, as well as english-language voice overs. It involves a field of numbered and colored blocks which can be rotated to form combos of similarly numbered bricks. There is also a large, pink monkey which seems to absorb the lifeforce of the numbered blocks for some mysterious reason. We aren't quite sure how everything works in this unusual PSP game, but we have found a trailer that gives the general idea of gameplay, below. Numblast might be worth a look for people with an overlapping interest in anime, math and monkeys.
