While we have long suspected that they were working on a new version of the PSP, Sony has officially announced the new hardware at the Leipzig Gaming Conference, Europe's version of America's E3. The new hardware is a "dazzling" PSP-3000, available in Mystic Silver and the already familiar Piano Black. The revision ads some minor improvements, a new screen and some sligh cosmetic changes. But enough with the introduction, let's get to the details!

The PSP-3000 is relative to the PSP-2000 (Slim) as in form factor with a few upgrades. The LCD screen has a wider color gamut, higher contrast ratio, and contains anti-reflection technology. The PSP-3000 also encases a bullt-in microphone for Skype callers. The PSP-3000 arrives in the Limited Edition Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters Entertainment Pack ($199) and later this year as a Core Pack ($169). Also, a new 4GB Memory Entertainment Pack was announced.
