New PSP Advertising Targets Teen Girls

The teen girl demographic is a fickle but lucrative group for advertisers. Up until recently, it has been hard for video game manufacturers to sell to younger female customers, but the Wii and DS systems have shown that it is possible with the right kind of software and marketing approach. Now, Sony would like to pitch its somewhat more masculine PSP device to a more female audience. It is doing so in the form of an all new color (Lilac PSP) and a software bundle that includes Hannah Montana: Rock Out the Show. There isn't currently much in the way of software that purposely targets girls, but we have a female friend who can't get enough of Burnout: Legends on her black PSP. She's kind of a weirdo, though.

To help promote its PSP, and all of the shovelware presumably coming down the pipeline for what Sony thinks are the typical female gamers, they've launched a new website. Here's what it looks like:
