New Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops details

Konami has announced new gameplay details on the upcoming PlayStation Portable action game Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, due to be released this winter. This latest installment of the Metal Gear franchise delivers several new gaming elements, including letting players in the single game storyline recruit unique comrades to create an original fighting force. These comrades are recruited based on the player’s wireless IP address at the time they are near a wireless access point. The game also has a white flag system in multi-player modes, “letting players choose to surrender and live to fight again or battle to the death and risk permanently losing some of their most valuable comrades”.

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops follows the events of Metal Gear Solid: 3: Snake Eater and features fully-voiced cut scenes with original artwork by visualist Ashley Wood. The game will feature actors from previous Metal Gear titles such as David Hayter voicing Big Boss while James Mathis and Jim Piddock return as Sigint and Major Zero, respectively.
