Marcus Rivers Lays Smackdown on iPhone

Marcus_icon.jpg

Fictional Sony marketing spokesperson Marcus Rivers is not a big fan of the iPhone, at least when it comes to gaming. In the new television advert below, Marcus lays out exactly why the PSP is superior: it has more interesting games and better graphics. Sony is also using it as an opportunity to highlight some of the titles in its greatest hits lineup, which are priced at $9.99 USD. In our opinion this is a very well done ad, and since Apple has taken pot shots at Nintendo and Sony in the media before, we think its totally fair game. However, it is interesting that this new ad should surface now, just hours away from Sony's press conference at GamesCom, where many observers expect Sony Ericsson to unveil a PSP phone of their own. Should that be the case, Marcus may want to specify whether phone gaming in general is bad, or just games without buttons.
