We have known for some time that Sony has been working on a sequel for the critically acclaimed Loco Roco on PSP. Company executive Phil Harrison even let slip during an interview last year that he had been playing the “next version of Loco Roco” during an international flight.
This week we finally got some official news on the title following a long period of silence from the company. Developer Tsutomu Koumo announced that work is underway on the next installment of the cute physics puzzler and that we can expect it soon. He stated that the forthcoming sequel will feature “new gameplay mechanics based on physics simulation and updated AI”. The company has not provided an exact release date, simply reiterating that we can expect it to arrive sometime before the end of 2008. A holiday-season release for such a popular franchise is almost assured.
