LittleBigPlanet PSP Nabs BAFTA For Best Handheld Game

Sackboy and his diminutive friends have taken the prestigious BAFTA award for best handheld game in 2009. Last year the award went to Professor Layton and the Curious Village, so it is nice to see accolades for a game on Sony's platform. We were impressed with LittleBigPlanet on the PSP, for its ability to cram nearly the entire console game experience into a portable format.

The Best overall game was the multiplatform title Batman: Arkham Asylum. However, Sony has to be pleased with the performance of Uncharted 2, which managed to snag Best Action Game in a crowded field of other contenders.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts handed out the prize this past Friday at a sumptuous event in London. You can check out a complete list of the winners and runners up below.
