Legends of War is a Surprise Hit on PSP

A new strategy game from a little-known European developer has received strong reviews and is selling well despite an almost non-existent marketing effort. Legends of War: Patton's Campaign is receiving accolades from both gamers and press after its first month in the European PlayStation Store. Hopefully the title finds its way over to the North American PSN soon. Developed by Enigma Productions, Legends of War is intended as a brand new strategy game franchise. Each title will focus on military conflict through the eyes of one of history's great personalities. The first release of the series is set during the World War II, and focuses on General Patton's campaign to destroy the Nazi war machine.

Vandal.net gave the game a solid 90% score, writing that "Although it may seem impossible they have led the small screen of the PSP the feeling to be playing to a PC strategy game. Scenarios are nearly perfect, and you can notice the great care and detail they have put into its design." Playstation Online also loved the game, suggesting that "If Sony doesn't snap this game up themselves they will be missing out on what is one of the PSPs best games to date." Legends of War is currently leading the top of the PlayStation Store's recommended list for PSP games, with an average user score of 4.9/5.

The developers promise that we won't have to wait too long to get our hands of the game in North America. The game is coming too to the US market (PSN) somewhere in December 2010.

Enigma Software Productions is currently negotiating the rights to the UMD version. More information will be made available in the following weeks. Eventually the developer would like to see versions released on Xbox360, Sony PS3, and Windows PC.
