Konami Announces Metal Gear on iPhone

Japanese publisher Konami today announced that it will be bringing four of its "major franchises" to Apple’s innovative iPhone and iPod touch devices. The four games in development for this mobile platform are Metal Gear Solid Touch, Silent Hill: The Escape, DanceDanceRevolution S Lite and Frogger. THe company states that each of these titles will all be specifically designed to take full advantage of the iPhone's unique touch screen capabilities.

There was no word on whether a website teasing a new metal gear game was related to this announcement. Series creator Hideo Kojima has remained tight lipped about his future plans for the series.

Konami provided no further details in the announcement, stating simply that “All four of these top-selling Konami titles have been re-designed to take full advantage of the iPhone's capabilities, including the innovative Multi-Touch interface and accelerometer.”
