Kick-Ass Digital Comics Available For PSP

PSP users can now download issues of Kick-Ass directly to their handheld device. Marvel has also made single issues of the digital comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., available for download on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch via the Comixology, Iverse and Panefly applications. The Kick-Ass film, based on the comics, will open in theaters across America on Friday. I have already seen this film in the UK, and believe me when I say it is awesome. The comics, which were created alongside the movie and provide additional backstory, should be top-notch as well. There are 8 issues in the series, each one priced at $1.99 USD.

The comics follow the adventures of real-life superheroes as they don outrageous costumes and do battle with mundane evil-doers from the criminal underworld. They do contain very explicit and violent content, and are not recommended for children.

"I have an ancient cell phone given to me by a relative that's so old it can't take pictures so this tech is so far away from me it might as well be science fiction," said Kick-Ass writer and co-creator Mark Millar in a news release. "But I read about it on Comic Book Resources and Marvel.com - the guys seemed excited so consider me excited by osmosis. More readers and new readers is always a good thing."
