Keyboard makers beaten to it by homebrew hacker

Every PSP owner wants one. That elusive piece of kit that would make the hardcore gamers mobile media entertainment system complete. The humble keyboard.

Logic 3 have been unable to deliver their own for ages, due to an inability to obtain certain information and command protocols from Sony. Also, FITC have promised a Spring 2007 launch for their keyboard. However, they have been fairly quiet on that front for some time now. So unto the breach steps homebrew man, aka madruscoe from PSPUpdates, has managed to create a homebrew application which lets you make short notes and save them as .txt files on your Memory Stick using the Palm(One) Universal Wireless Keyboard.

This is the only keyboard supported at the moment and the good news is you can pick them up for around $50 from our partners at Amazon and they'll work with your Palm PDA. Just plunk your PSP into it, sync via IrDA, and away you go. Right now, it only works in a basic Notepad app, and the txt files (saved onto your Memory Stick PRO Duo) cannot exceed 4KB, but QWERTY keyboard-powered instant messaging can't be far behind.
