iPhone Hit Angry Birds Coming to PSP

We're used to seeing our best PSP games get ported over to Apple's iPhone, but now the tables have been turned. The runaway success Angy Birds will make its way to the PSP device later this year, according to the game's creator Joe Wee. The game will be launched as a PSP Minis title, which is compatible on both the PSP and PS3 systems.

Angry Birds is a physics-based puzzle game in which players use their hardened avian bodies to demolish forts of varying sizes. The fortresses are manned by the enemy green pigs, who have stolen the birds' eggs. And nothing makes a bird angrier than somebody messing with its unhatched young.

The original game makes heavy use of the iPhone's touch input, so the PSP version will likely have to add some innovative new control mechanisms. We are looking forward to playing on a larger screen, though.
