In-Stat speculates PSP price drop near

In a new report published by research firm In-Stat (and priced at $2,495 so forget buying it), some interesting speculation and details about the battle between the Sony PSP and the Nintendo DS emerge. With other portable gaming devices of the current generation – including the Nokia N-Gage, Tapwave Zodiac, and Gizmondo – having gone the way of the dodo bird, only Sony and Nintendo are left to duke it out for gamers’ dollars. In-Stat says that while the PSP outshipped the DS in 2005, the tide has turned this year spurred by strong Nintendo sales in Japan. The research firm speculates Sony will likely offer a PSP price cut in all major regions by the end of the year.
