DS and PSP Get "Environmentally Friendly"

With the issue of global warming and all the other problems affecting the environment, the video game industry has also taken part in saving the Earth. According to an article on Gamer.Blorge.Com, the DS and PSP have received different alternatives for power.

The PSP has a solar powered charger manufactured by PEGA and has been redesigned only for the PSP. The charger includes a 1800mAh lithium battery and a charger that can either "power the batter through a typical DC power source, or by solar energy via its polysilicon solar panel." However, one user said that it he sat in sunlight for about 5 hours and was only able to play his PSP for about an hour. The price is set at around $30. For those who feel that it could help the environment, feel free to purchase this solar powered charger for the PSP.

As for the DS, it has a hand charger designed by GameTech. The charger requires the person to crank the internal gear for about three minutes to get at least twenty minutes worth of battery life. One bad thing that comes along with this charger, besides the short battery life, is the sound the gear makes when cranking it.

Again, these environment friendly chargers are for those who want to help out the environment. For those who don't like sitting in the sun for long periods of time or playing a DS for just 20 minutes, these alternatives to battery life are probably not the best choice.
