D3Publisher readies Warlords PSP puzzle game

Video game publisher D3Publisher today announced a new puzzle style game set in the Warlords universe for handheld platforms including the PSP. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords "challenges gamers to create, develop and customize the ultimate hero to save the land of Etheria from the evil Lord Bane. In order to advance, players will battle in turn-based, head-to-head 'match-three' style puzzle games in one of three distinct gameplay modes: Single-player will allow gamers to battle against the computer AI as they embark on over 150 challenging quests, Instant Action will allow gamers to jump in and immediately play continuous battles to level-up characters without participating in quests, and Multiplayer will allow gamers to battle live opponents via wireless connectivity on both the PSP system and Nintendo DS handheld system. Victory will advance the player’s hero, magical arsenal, creature companions and more—ultimately rewarding gamers at nearly every turn and providing endless hours of replayablity."

The game was co-developed by Infinite Interactive Pty. Ltd. and Vicious Cycle Software, Inc. and will be out in March 2007.
