Codemasters Developing DiRT 2 for PSP

In addition to the PS3, 360 and Wii versions of its rally racing simulator, we have learned that Codemasters is also planning to bring the game to the PSP. Colin McRae: DiRT 2 is the follow up to the successful DiRT console game. The original, which was completed shortly after the Scottish racing driver's death, was a solid game and a testament to the awesomness of rally racing. DiRT 2 will retain the Colin McRae name, while taking the series in a slightly more modern, extreme direction. Players will get to experience the gritty reality of touring the racing circuit, while managing their own racing careers and working from a battered old camper trailer.

Promising more than 100 different events spread across the different disciplines of off-road racing, Colin McRae: DiRT 2 will utilise an enhanced version of the EGO engine. On consoles, the game will feature comprehensive online modes that are likely to be a marked improvement over those in the original. Hopefully, the PSP version of DiRT 2 turns out well, because we could use a good rally game on our handheld. We will bring you more specific info on the PSP version as soon as we have it. In the mean time, you can check out a preview of DiRT 2 for the PS3 here.

DiRT 2 is one gorgeous looking game on consoles. Let's see how the PSP version stacks up.
