Chinatown Wars PSP a Reality: Rockstar

One of the highest-rated Nintendo DS games that nobody played will be making its way to the PSP handheld, Rockstar has confirmed. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was released to major critical acclaim and consumer apathy on the Nintendo DS in March of 2009. As big-time PSP fanboys, we were visibly disappointed that Rockstar had seemingly abandoned its close relationship with the PSP during its dalliance with that other competing console. We even secretly wished that the game would eventually lose its DS exclusive status and come our way because well, we weren't too proud to beg. Now it seems that our wildest dreams have come true, as Rockstar realized that it needed to actually make money in order to remain viable as a company, and has acknowledged that the PSP is where the majority of its handheld gaming fans currently reside.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars follows the story of Huang Lee, a young Triad member who travels to Liberty City after the mysterious death of his father. Navigating a shady underworld, players will make their way through the streets as they uncover the truth behind an epic tale of crime and corruption within the Triad crime syndicate, delivering the unprecedented amount of depth that has become a trademark of the franchise. Specifically built for the PSP platform with upscaled widescreen graphics, enhanced lighting and animation, and including all-new story missions, this version of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will take full advantage of the power of the PSP system.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be available on both UMD and digital download for the PSP and PSP Go later this fall.
