Cardboard Senki Announced for PSP

Japanese developers Level 5 made a number of exciting new game announcements this week. The latest title announced for the PSP is a quirky RPG game called "Cardboard Senki". This project, along with another handheld RPG called Ushiro, is scheduled for a Japanese release sometime in 2009. In the game, players will take control of a small robot called LBX. What makes this game stand out from others in the genre, is the fact that the environments are all constructed out of cardboard (somewhat like the house of this PSP World writer). The game focuses on the robotic aspect of the main character, giving players the opportunity to buy new parts and models for LBX at stores to upgrade and outfit the robot. So far, there are very few details on the game, but the quirky premise and interesting visual style have us particularly interested. Only one screenshot has been revealed, pictured below.

Keep it locked to PSP World for more news on this game as it develops.
