Atari drops new Earthworm Jim PSP details

New details were released today by Atari and developer Shiny Entertainment about the upcoming PlayStation Portable title Earthworm Jim. The game, which will be out in March 2007, features the return of Earthworm Jim in his first original adventure in years. This side-scrolling action platformer “tracks the intrepid hero’s continued fight against the Queen and her allies, as well as his evolving relationship with Princess What’s-Her-Name and friendship with the indomitable Peter Puppy.”

Features of the game will include characters, environments and effects, all crafted in the trademark Earthworm Jim art style and upgraded to 3D; Super Suit Overdrive power and expanded arsenal of moves and attacks; the ability to collect armor upgrades that absorb damage; two player competition modes for extended game play; a Stage Select screen that allows players to replay completed stages to improve score and win prizes; and Challenge Modes which encourage replay.
