Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 PSP bound

Atari have announced that Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 is currently in development for Sony PSP by Tate Interactive. An enhanced version of the PlayStation 2 and PC game of the same name, Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 for the PSP will take advantage of the unique capabilities of the console while staying rooted in the same great tradition of parody that runs throughout the stories of Asterix and his friends.

The PSP version of Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 includes a completely new Wi-Fi two player mode which is easily accessible and great fun to play. With room for up to four players at once, gamers will be able to challenge others in an intensely entertaining Arena Team Battle. Pick from the most lovable characters in the Asterix universe and then let battle commence, unless the sky falls on our heads first. Multiplayer gameplay is made easily accessible with a simple interface to launch players straight into the action.

Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 for PSP and Nintendo DS is scheduled for release across Europe in November 2006. It’s still unknown if the game will be released in the US.
