Apache Overkill Takes off on PSP Minis

The best thing about the PSP Minis platform is its simple, arcade-style games. This week we've got a blast from the side-scrolling past with Playerthree's Apache: Overkill. The aim of this PSP Minis title is simple: Blast away waves of choppers, trucks, jets, and tanks before facing the bombers, armored airships and Special Ops on each stage. There are 99 levels in total, so you'll be at it for a long time. But the designers have given players some extra firepower to help them tackle the challenge: you can collect upgrades to boost your firepower with missiles, bombs, lasers and nukes, blitzing the enemy in a torrent of destruction which makes for an entertaining and thrilling game.

Playerthree's Managing Director Pete Everett, said: "It's very exciting to finally launch our first Minis title, and to see some of our own IP come alive on a console. We've been pouring our experience of Flash games development into the PSP and squeezing as much out of the platform as we can to enhance the gameplay and visuals to bring Apache Overkill to a new platform."

Apache Overkill is now available in North America and Europe. It is playable on both the Playstation Portable and Playstation 3 systems. It is priced at $2.99 / £1.99 / €2.49 and is downloadable from Sony's PSN Store.
